Here is the possible replacements for Thomas Partey in January

Arsenal’s Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has continued to see his time at the Emirates plagued by injuries. The 30 year old has now undergone surgery that will see him miss the remainder of the year.

Partey’s involvement in the AFCON tournament which starts in January also remains a very huge doubt. Apparently the former Atletico Madrid player has already missed six weeks of the current season.

And Arteta will be looking to replace him in the coming winter transfer window. Word has it that the Arsenal boss is a big fan of Aston Villa’s Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz.

The Gunners habe tried severally to prize him from Villa Park without any success. In fact he recently signed a new deal with Unai Emery’s side as the club looks towards an ambitious project.

Therefore it will be awaited to see if the Gunners will reignite their interest in him and finally manage to sign him. Another player Mikel will be looking to sign is Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

The London club has been tracking the Spaniard for sometime but will face competition from Bayern Munich. Arteta is also said to looking to offloading about 3 players to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

Meanwhile the Gunners are currently facing some serious injuries with their star players. Eddie Nketiah, Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Emile Smith Rowe are all out with injuries.

However, some of these are expected to be available for selection on the weekend as the Gunners play Burnley in the league. Jorginho, Declan Rice, Mohammed Elneny and Fabio Vieira are some of the available options for Arteta in midfield.
