Confirmed teams for Knockout Stages of the UEFA Champions League

Match day 5 of the UEFA Champions League ended last night and couple of teams have already been confirmed for the knockout stages of this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Current champions, Manchester City confirmed a place in the last 16 on Tuesday after coming from a 2-0 down to beat RB Leipzig 3-2 at the Etihad stadium. Another English Premier League side which is Arsenal also booked their spot.

The Gunners who last played in the knockouts of their prestigious tournament nailed 6 past RC Lens. Kai Havertz continued his fine form after latching onto a Gabriel Jesus header to grab the lead at the Emirates.

Jesus himself scored the second after Bukayo Saka got dispossessed by Lens defenders. Saka himself got onto the scoresheet to gift Mikel Arteta’s side a third.

It wasn’t yet over for the French side as Gabriel Martinelli scored the fourth before Odegaard netted a fifth. Jorginho scored a second half penalty.

Apparently Arsenal are now in the knockouts alongside PSV Eindhoven who beat 10 man Sevilla. The two sides will play each other in the last group game.

In Group A, there is all to play for as three teams can all still qualify. Bayern Munich have already qualified. FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray have 5 points each whole Manchester United have 4.
Galatasaray will play Copenhagen in the last game as Man U host Bayern Munich.

Real Madrid also qualified out of group C after beating Napoli 4-2. The Italians are still in contention for a spot the knockouts alongside Braga.

From Group D, Real Sociedad and Inter Milan have both qualified. The battle remains to see who tops the group.

Barcelona also qualified out of Group H. The battle remains between Shaktar Donestk and FC Porto who all have 9 points.

Atletico Madrid and Lazio also qualified out of Group E. The battle will be between on who tops the group.

From Group F, Borussia Dortmund have already qualified. PSG, Newcastle and AC Milan are all vying for the last spot in the group.
