Unfortunate News As Neymar Set To Miss Copa America

Unfortunate News As Neymar Set To Miss Copa America. The Brazil national football team has been with unfortunate news as their record goal scorer Neymar Junior won’t be available for the upcoming Copa America tournament.

Brazil doctor Lasmar said that they expect the 31 year old to return fully fit at the start of next season. This will be in August preferably. And therefore there is no reason to try and rush him to recovery which might endanger him.

“It’s too early, there’s no point skipping steps to recover. Our expectation is that he will be prepared to return at the start of the 2024 European calendar, which is August”, told Rádio 98.

It should be noted that Neymar suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in October while on international duty with Brazil. This was in the 2-0 defeat to Uruguay in the 2026 South America World Cup qualifiers.

He underwent a surgery at his Al Hilal side. It was expected he would return before the Copa America which will take in the US before they start in June.

Despite his brilliant career for Brazil where he surpassed Pele and Ronaldo Da Lima as the top goal scorer, he’s yet to win a big trophy. His only senior trophy with the Samba Boys is the 2013 Confederations Cup.

Apparently he was out injured in 2019 when Brazil won the Copa America that it had hosted.Unfortunate News As Neymar Set To Miss Copa America.
