Rio Ferdinand Urges Arsenal To Sign One Of Newcastle’s Top Players

Rio Ferdinand Urges Arsenal. Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has urged Arsenal to go all out and sign one of Newcastle’s top players. The Gunners are yet to sign any new player in the short transfer window.

Gunners fans have been crying out for a striker after Mikel Arteta’s side has looked short in front of goal. Arsenal have just one win in the last seven games and a striker would be the ultimate signing for the North London side.

As it’s well known that clubs don’t usually go for big name signings due to the length of the window, Ferdinand believes this is a deal the Gunners can’t skip. While on his Five Podcast, the former England international advised Edu and Mikel to go for Alexander Isak.

The Swedish striker has proved himself to be one of the Magpies best players ever since he was signed from Real Sociedad. Arsenal had even been linked to him while still in Spain. And with Newcastle struggling to balance their books, selling some of their key players could be an option.

Besides, it seems like Champions League football won’t be coming to Tyneside next season due to Eddie Howe’s side’s dismal campaign. Therefore tempting Isak to the Emirates wouldn’t be much of a hurdle.

“Alexander Isak was running in behind constantly (against Manchester City),” Ferdinand told his FIVE podcast. “If I’m Arsenal, I’m going all out and buying him.

“Why? They can’t spend – they’re struggling with [profit and sustainability rules]. I think there’s another jump-up before he goes to a club like Real Madrid. I saw somewhere they have to sell before they can buy again.”

Newcastle posted a loss of £73.4million from their recent accountability. And players such as Isak and Bruno Guimares have been linked with moves away from St James Park to balance the books. The Arsenal has been linked to strikers such as Ivan Toney, Karim Benzema, Victor Osimhen, Dominic Solanke and Joshua Zirkzee. Rio Ferdinand Urges Arsenal
