Former Egypt Footballer Ahmed Mido Makes Fun Of Mo Salah

As Mohamed Salah continues his rehabilitation at Liverpool in an effort to return to the Africa Cup of Nations, former Egypt player Mido has made fun of him.

Due to a hamstring issue, Salah had to postpone his competition and returned to Merseyside in order to improve his chances of recovering. The attacker for the Reds might still play in the competition, which he has never won despite Egypt’s remarkable past.

His fellow countryman has made fun of Salah on social media for his controversial decision to return to Liverpool. Mido made a snide remark after the 31-year-old shared a picture of himself stretching at Liverpool’s training facility online. He tweeted: “Oh, these exercises are so dirty and rigid, it is difficult to do them except in Liverpool.” Salah observed from the sidelines as Egypt drew their penultimate group match, securing their place in the tournament’s round of 16, where they will take on DR Congo.

Although Salah may only return in time for a potential championship game for the Pharaohs—who last won the AFCON in 2010—Jurgen Klopp maintains that the team’s decision to bring him back to Liverpool was made solely to support his recuperation and dispel any notion that he is not a patriot.

“It will just delay everything, especially for Egypt if they go through the tournament,” he stated if he stays in Africa and they are unable to provide the right care. We have brought him here to receive the best medical care possible, not to remove him from Egypt. All we desire is that.
