Kitara continue their fine form as they knock SC Villa out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup

Kitara FC and BUL FC made it to the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinals after overcoming SC Villa and Express FC, respectively.
After defeating SC Villa 2-0 on Sunday, Kitara moved on to the round of eight with ease at Masindi Municipal Stadium.

After goals in the second half from Paul Mucureezi and Frank Tumwesige, popularly known as Zaga, Brian Ssenyondo’s squad advanced to the semifinals.

The victory maintains Kitara’s hopes of pulling off the impossible Cup double. They lead the league standings at the moment with 39 points.

Meanwhile, Express FC, who shared the record, lost to BUL FC, the 2022 competition winners, in a penalty shootout.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw in normal time at Njeru Technical Center with Ibrahim Mugulusi scoring for BUL FC and Katumba tying the score for the Red Eagles.

The team led by Abbey Kikomeko advanced to the quarterfinals alongside Kitara FC and Pajule Lions with a 4-1 victory on penalties.
