Axed Vipers SC coach Livingstone Mbabazi set for new job

According to fresh information, Gaddafi FC, a team in the Uganda Premier League, is expected to appoint coach Livingstone Mbabazi.
Prior to the team’s vital final seven games of the season, Mbabazi is scheduled to be formally hired as a member of the Gaddafi FC technical staff.

This comes following reports that Mbabazi’s permanent absence from official club activities led to his dismissal from Vipers SC.
In the interim, until formal notification, the Venoms have designated Fred Muhumuza as Richard Wasswa’s immediate assistant.

On January 1st, Livingstone Mbabazi was named head coach of the Vipers, taking over for Brazilian Leo Neiva, who had left the team with mutual consent.

Mbabazi’s rule was only in place for three months. The fact that he had departed for a family member’s funeral the night before the match against URA FC ultimately proved to be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Since then, he has not returned to the club.

Gaddafi, who are down in the relegation muck at the wrong time of the season, will be happy to have him.

Gaddafi has lost their last nine games under head coach David Mutono and his assistant Felix Ssekabuza. Their most recent victory came on January 3rd in the Gaddafi Arena when they unexpectedly defeated BUL FC 2-1.

After 22 games played and 18 points gained, the Soldier Boyz are ranked 14th in the table.
