Arsenal set their sights on Zubimendi, Douglas Luiz and Bruno Guimaraes

The Evening Standard claims that Zubimendi has been on the Gunners’ radar for a while and that they intend to buy at least one midfield player this summer. According to the article, despite Bayern Munich and Barcelona’s interest, the 25-year-old has been hesitant to leave his childhood club. Mikel Arteta’s team may try to sign Guimaraes of Newcastle United and Luiz of Villa as that transfer proves problematic, but neither club is willing to sell unless a very attractive offer is made.

According to reports, Arsenal is getting ready to make major changes to their midfield for the upcoming campaign. Mohamed Elneny, 31, and Jorginho, 32, are both out of contract this summer, and Thomas Partey, 30, has one year left on his contract.

The Gunners most likely need to sell before they can bolster their midfield, particularly after investing £100 million ($130 million) on Declan Rice in 2023.

According to The Standard, the defensive midfielder is eager to rejoin Xabi Alonso after mentoring him at Real Sociedad B and assisting in his ascent to the first squad. If Alonso had chosen to stay at Bayer Leverkusen instead of Bayern Munich for the upcoming season, Zubimendi was expected to follow suit. However, that may not happen now.

Real Madrid will meet Sociedad on Friday night in La Liga action, while transfer rumors involving these three players will persist until the transfer window opens in mid-June.
