Uganda World Cup qualifiers to be played under the floodlights at Namboole Stadium

Uganda will take on Algeria and Botswana in the forthcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers, which will take place at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole under the floodlights.

FIFA has announced that both games will begin at precisely 7:00 p.m.
The Cranes will play the Zebras of Botswana on Friday, June 7, and the Desert Foxes of Algeria on Monday, June 10, 2024.
The Uganda Cranes’ last game under the Namboole floodlights came against Burkina Faso in March 2016 in the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers.

Additionally, it will be Uganda’s first home game at Namboole since November 2019, when the Cranes defeated Malawi 2-0 thanks to goals from Emmanuel Okwi and Fahad Bayo.

Uganda has three points from two games played and is presently ranked fourth in Group H of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The Cranes opened the tournament with a 2-1 loss to Guinea before triumphing 1-0 over Somalia thanks to a goal from Rogers Mato.
