Chelsea face stiff competition from Newcastle for Michael Olise

If Newcastle were unable to get Michael Olise this summer, they are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea forward Noni Madueke.
After failing to persuade Miguel Almiron of the chances in the Saudi Pro League in the past, the Magpies are eager to let him go in the upcoming months, and a shortlist of contenders has been compiled on Tyneside.
Even if Eddie Howe’s team complies with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, they still hope to add a few big names this summer, Olise being one of their goals.

The Crystal Palace star is up against stiff competition, though, as Chelsea is keen to sign him and both Manchester clubs are keeping a close eye on his circumstances. Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Liverpool have also been mentioned as interested teams.

If Newcastle’s pursuit of Olise fails, they have other options. The Independent reports that they have also set their sights on Chelsea’s Madueke.

Following his January 2023 transfer from PSV to the Blues, the winger has had difficulty securing a berth in the starting lineup. Even though the player signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge last year, Newcastle hopes that the possibility of more regular appearances may cause him to change his mind.

Moving Madueke on would enable Chelsea to pursue Olise and persuade the Frenchman that if he decides to move across London, a starting berth on the right wing is available for him. Chelsea is definitely in the running to sign Olise.

Negotiations may, however, be hampered by the Palace player’s desire to play Champions League football, just as they will be if Newcastle tries to reach an agreement with Olise’s group.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, Madueke made 23 Premier League appearances for Chelsea last season, contributing two assists and five goals. But because Cole Palmer was playing well out on the right, he only started 13 of those games.

Olise might arrive, and Christopher Nkunku wants to be healthy and productive for the upcoming campaign. As a result, the 22-year-old’s playing time and standing beneath Enzo Maresca could both decline. Chelsea will probably be put to the test by a decent bid because they are eager to raise money for their own venture.
