Mikel Arteta, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville React To West Ham’s

Mikel Arteta, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville React To West Ham’s Controversial Goal. Arsenal last night squandered a chance to reclaim top spot on the Premier League table.

This is after they suffered a shocking 2-0 defeat at the Emirates to West Ham. A first half goal from Tomas Soucek and second half header from Arsenal former defender Dinos Mavropanos ensured David Moyes side took all three points.

The Hammers could have added a third in stoppage time but Saidi Benrahma’s penalty was saved by David Raya. This was after Declan Rice fouled Emerson in the penalty box.

However, it was West Ham’s first goal which is the talking point. Jarod Bowen seem to have picked the ball from outside the by line before crossing it in for Soucek.

VAR intervention didn’t help a lot as they didn’t have conclusive evidence to rule out the goal. Instead the time they used was pushed ahead which shows Bowen keeping the ball in. Different people have reacted to the incident.

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta who fumed after the same incident in the Newcastle game had a more calm approach to the incident. He said that the game is gone and there is nothing to do about it now.

Jamie Carragher said the ba appeared to be outside. He wondered if there is a way technology can be gotten over the byline to always judge which cases.

Foe Thierry Henry, he fumed and said this was an absolute disgrace. This is because the ball clearly looked out. And when it came to Gary Neville, he seemed to be enjoying the banter.
