All Africa games final between Uganda Hippos and Ghana set

On Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, the men’s football final of the 13th African Games between Ghana and Uganda (The Hippos) will take place.

The confirmation follows the Tuesday night semi-final bouts that took place at the same location.

In a fiercely contested match, Ghana defeated Senegal 1-0. In the 84th minute, Michael Ephson scored the game’s crucial goal.

Ephson, a player with Ghana’s Koforidua Sempafi Football Club, scored from an empty net following a left-wing assist from Jerry Afriyie of Thought FC.

Uganda will now play the Satellites, as the Ghana U-20 squad is called, in this Friday’s championship match.

Desmond The Ghana U-20 team’s head coach Sakyi Ofei credited perseverance and hard effort for the team’s triumph.”We continued to work as diligently as we could. The athletes were similarly calm and patient. Ofei declared, “We are now ready to take on Uganda.”

Uganda overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat Congo 4-2 in the first semi-final match.

By the required halfway point, Congo had taken a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Amour Servyl Akouala and Mignon Koto.

After Bruno Bunyaga scored a brace in the second half, the Uganda Hippos rallied. Hakim Mutebi, who is incredibly talented, and left-footer Abasi Kyeyune scored the other two goals.

Senegal and Congo will compete for the bronze medal.
