Double Injury Blow Hits PSG Ahead of Champions League Defense

Paris St Germain will be without star forward Ousmane Dembele for six weeks and winger Desire Doue for four weeks after both suffered injuries on international duty with France.

Doue was substituted at halftime in France’s 2-0 win over Ukraine on Friday with a calf issue, while Dembele, who came on as his replacement, limped off late in the second half with a hamstring injury.

Dembele’s absence is a major setback for PSG, with the 28-year-old widely tipped as a Ballon d’Or contender after a remarkable 2023–24 season in which he fired the club to their first Champions League crown as part of a domestic treble. He netted 35 goals and recorded 16 assists across all competitions.

The injuries leave PSG short of attacking options as they prepare to resume Ligue 1 action against Lens on September 14, before beginning their Champions League title defense against Atalanta just three days later.
