Arteta: Eze Yet to Show His Full Potential at Arsenal

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has tipped Eberechi Eze to deliver even more for the club after the midfielder opened his account in Wednesday’s 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Port Vale.

The £60 million summer signing from Crystal Palace struck just eight minutes into the tie, giving Arsenal an early lead at Vale Park. However, the Gunners struggled to turn possession into clear chances, only making the result safe when substitute Leandro Trossard added a second goal in the 86th minute.

Arteta praised Eze’s performance, describing him as Arsenal’s most dangerous attacking player on the night, but insisted there is still greater consistency to come. “He needs more time with his teammates to understand the timings,” Arteta said. “In general very good, but there is still a lot more to give.”

Eze, who started on the left but has already been deployed in several roles since joining the club, continues to be used in different positions as Arteta seeks to maximize his creativity.
