Barcelona denied permission to host Real Sociedad at Montjuic

Barcelona’s plans to face Real Sociedad at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic have been blocked by the city municipality. The venue, which recently hosted a Post Malone concert, is deemed unfit to stage matches this month due to the incomplete pitch and missing VAR installations.

With Camp Nou also not fully ready for use, Barça may once again be forced to play at Estadi Johan Cruyff. While the stadium has brought good sporting results, it continues to weigh heavily on the club’s finances, creating another setback for the Catalans.
